Deal of the Month - August 2006

The first deal we have is a development deal in Wheaton, IL. It is a
teardown on a .67 acre subdivisable lot. The address of the property is
26W241 Marion Avenue. The school district is #200. The list price on the
property is $389,900. We have spoken to the investor who has the property under
contract. His contract is for $280,000 and he is willing to assign the contract
for $20,000, or resell the property after closing for $310,000. Please contact

Investor Cigar Night presented by REI | Events - chicago is meant to be a time and place for real estate investors to kickback, relax, and not only chat a little bit about real estate investment, but also sports, news, politics, etc. It is a chance to socialize with like-minded people in a less formal environment.

We have removed the ticker that was at chicago.reievents.com. One, we did not like the feature and two, it was removed for a more sinister reason. To make way for some advertising.

The Response

Now that REI|Events has entered the second week of existence on the web, we are happy to say that the response has been 100% positive from the REI community. We are glad that we can provide a tool that serves the RE investor in a positive way.

Wow, in our first week of going "public", REI|Events has had over 1000 web hits. And, this is just for the first week!

We are also happy to say that more content, more functionality and more cities are forthcoming.

Ticker...Stay or go?

We have added some "brown bag events" to the chicago.reievents.com calendar, plus a ticker at the top of the chicago site.

Although, we are not sold on the ticker, quite yet. We may remove it and replace it with a banner, instead. Stay tuned.

View Events in Detail

A new feature has been added that allows a user to access a list of upcoming events or upcoming open houses. At the main calendar page, simply click on either "View Investor Open Houses Only" or "View Meetings and Seminars Only."

Clicking on either of those links allows a user to view events in list mode with greater detail.
